This bladed metal glove — similar to the one used by Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, below — was found in a knife amnesty bin at Uxbridge police station.

The bins, where people can dispose of offensive weapons anonymously, are part of Scotland Yard’s Operation Sceptre, launched in 2015 to tackle knife crime and weapon carrying.

Following the find, West Drayton Police tweeted: “There are knives and then there is this.

"Safely dropped off anonymously in the knife bin in Uxbridge Police Station. #noknives”.

In the latest phase of Operation Sceptre, which includes police weapon sweeps on estates and intelligence-led stop and search tactics, 500 arrests were made and 400 weapons taken off London streets.
