A teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing of celebrity bodyguard Ricky Hayden.
Tommy Roome, 19, of Romford, was charged on Thursday with Ricky's murder and the attempted murder of Ricky's father.
He will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Friday, 23 September.
Ricky Hayden, 27, was knifed to death outside his home in Chadwell Heath as he tried to stop a gang of thieves stealing his moped.
Security guard Mr Hayden, who had worked for ITV’s This Morning and for stars including footballer Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, was injured alongside his 54-year-old father.
Both father and son were taken to an east London hospital. Ricky Hayden was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday.
His dad has now been released from hospital.
A post-mortem examination took place on Thursday, 15 September, at Queens Hospital Mortuary and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the thigh.
Two teenagers, 19 and 16, were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday on suspicion of murder. Both have been bailed.
