Stockwell station: Police hunt masked man who brandished knife on Tube on New Year's Eve

Police are hunting a man who brandished a knife at a south London station on New Year’s Eve.

Shocking CCTV images of a man wearing a balaclava have been released by British Transport Police after a man “brandished a knife at Stockwell Tube station” at around 12.26pm.

No one is reported to have been injured or been directly threatened.

The police spokesman added: “Officers were called, however the suspect left the area before they arrived.”

Officers from BTP are now urging anyone with information about the incident or recognises the man in the CCTV images to come forward to help with their investigation.

Anyone with information can call BTP by texting 61016, calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 145 of 31/12/18, or calling Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111.
