Shopkeeper stabbed in the face 'for refusing to sell teenagers drinks and cigarettes'

This is the horrifying moment three teenagers stabbed a shopkeeper in the face for refusing to sell them drinks and cigarettes.

The yobs knifed the shopkeeper in the side of his face and smashed a bottle over another worker’s head in the shocking attack at a store in Paddington.

Police said the 44-year-old salesman was lucky to be alive after the terrifying assault, at Station Food and Wine on Edgware Road in the early afternoon on July 7.

CCTV footage shows three youths walking into the shop. Police said they asked to buy drinks and cigarettes.

But when the shopkeeper questioned their ages, one of the teens attacked the salesman with a knife and another smashes the bottle over the other victim’s head.

The footage shows a struggle continuing down the aisles as the appalling attack carries on.

Police, who were called at 2.15pm to reports of a fight in the shop, have now released video footage of three boys they want to find and speak to following the attack.

Both the shopkeeper and the younger sales assistant, 21, who suffered a cut to the face, were rushed to hospital by paramedics.

PC Richard Kidd, from Westminster CID, said: "Both of the victims are very fortunate not to have suffered a fatal injury as a result of this attack."

The first suspect is described as average build with short black hair, a grey hooded top, black trousers and black shoes.

The second suspect is slim with short black hair and was also wearing a grey hoodie, black trousers and black shoes. The third suspect is of slim build and wearing a black top.
