This is the shocking moment brawling youths knock a man unconscious outside a busy east London Tube station, leaving him lying on the floor.

Violence flared outside Stratford station just before 7.20pm on Sunday as punches were thrown in front of shocked families.

One man is seen tumbling to the floor, lying motionless as onlookers scream in horror.

The fight then continues as another man falls to the floor before being kicked by a shouting youth.

He gets up before being beaten to the ground again and is left lying under a coffee shop barrier as the fight is broken up.

While some people appear to be trying to help, others seem to be laughing at the unconscious man with one man telling him to “sleep tight”.

One witness told the Standard the fight had broken out after two men disrupted a procession of dancers.

He said: “They were asked off, they resisted and a fight broke out. It was completely unwarranted.

“The procession was about six people, the rest of the crowd were watching.

“One man was put to sleep with a punch but woke up 15 minutes later before the ambulance arrived.”

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said the man had suffered a minor head injury and has since been released from hospital.

He said: “Police were called at around 7.20pm on Sunday, April 9, to Stratford Underground station in Station Street, to reports of a fight in progress and an assault.

“Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police, and the London Ambulance Service attended.

“A man was taken to an east London hospital by ambulance to be treated for a head injury. An investigation is ongoing.”

No one has been arrested over the incident.
