A Polish man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was "viciously attacked" at one of London's busiest Tube stations.
Police said two men were assaulted at Oxford Circus Tube station on Sunday morning.
British Transport Police said they were called to reports of a serious assault on the southbound Bakerloo line platform three at about 11.15am.
The victims, two Polish men, were rushed to hospital. One of them remained in a criticial condition with life-threatening injuries on Monday.
Police said detectives were working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and enquiries were ongoing.
Inspector Mark Summerfield said: "This was a vicious attack that has left a man in a critical condition and I am asking anyone who saw anything or who has any information about this incident to come forward and talk to us.”
