Police are probing footage of a “very dangerous” stunt which appeared to show two men hitch a ride on the back of a double decker bus as it sped down a road in west London.

The shocking footage, posted on YouTube by user DyingLlama on Saturday, appears to show two men scale a tower block, believed to be Hall Place, near Edgware Road Tube station.

The thrill-seekers climbed metal brackets up the sides of the building towards the roof before scaling railings above the block of flats.

The pair then appeared to leave the building through a fire exit and flee by hanging onto the back of a London bus as it drove down the road.

The duo filmed themselves laughing as they travelled on the back of the bus before one leapt off and chased the other along the road.

Transport for London branded the footage, filmed on a head-worn camera, “extremely reckless” and urged potential copy-cats not to repeat the stunt.

Steve Burton, TfL’s Director of Enforcement and On-Street Operations, said: “This behaviour is extremely reckless and will not be tolerated.

“The repeated actions of this individual not only pose a risk to his personal safety, but also the safety of the bus passengers and other road users.

“We are working with the police to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

Scotland Yard confirmed police were aware of the video and are investigating.

Those taking part in “bus surfing” could be convicted and face a fine of between £100 and £200.

A spokesman said: “Police are aware of the video and looking into it.

“We urge people not to commit such an act as this, which is very dangerous and potentially life threatening to themselves or members of the public.”
