Police are investigating an allegation of the rape of a student at one of the UK's leading universities of art and design.
Police have increased patrols around a campus of the University of Arts London after a student reported she had been raped.
The teenage girl told police she was attacked by a man on the campus of the Camberwell College of Arts on Peckham Road last week.
Detectives from the Met's child abuse and sexual offences command unit are investigating the attack.
A spokesman for the Met said: “Police are investigating an allegation of rape that was made to officers on Wednesday, 20 September.
“The offence was committed at Camberwell College of Arts. The victim, aged in her late teens, was attacked by a man.
“No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.”
The University of the Arts London said it is assisting police with the investigation.
"We can confirm we are assisting police with their enquiries into a serious incident which occurred last week,” a spokesman said.
“Our students' safety and well-being is of paramount importance, and we have encouraged any students who want advice or support to contact our Dean of Students."
No arrests have been made.
The college, which offers courses in art, design and conservation, is described as one of the "world's foremost art and design institutions" with an annual intake of 1,600 students.
