Police are hunting a woman with "long pink nails and heavy make-up" after she launched an attack on a middle-aged woman on a rush hour Tube train.

A 60-year-old woman was assaulted on a southbound Northern line train this morning, British Transport Police said.

She was attacked just before 9am while the train was at Kentish Town station.

No arrests have been made but officers issued a description of the suspect.

A BTP spokesman said: "The suspect is described as black, between 5ft 9in and 6ft tall with long pink nails and heavy make-up.

"She wore black skinny jeans, a black coat, a white vest top and sandals."

Anyone with information should call BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 126 of 17/06/2015, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
