A man has died following a hit-and-run on the North Circular.

The pedestrian, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash just after 3am.

Police are searching for two cars, which they said failed to stop at the scene.

The road, the A406, remains closed westbound, between junction one of the M1 at Staples Corner and Neasden lane.

Two of the three eastbound lanes are also closed.

Police say they are still investigating the incident but believe the pedestrian may have been hit by both cars.

The cars are said to be black.

Officers are still working to establish the man's identity.

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to contact officers in Brent via 101 quoting reference 699/20May or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
