Police are searching for a female Peugeot driver after a motorcyclist died in a collision in east London.
Derek Gomes, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene in Dagenham after crashing into a wall on January 10.
Detectives have today renewed their appeal for information from anyone who may have witnessed the fatal crash on Dagenham Road at around 4.15pm.
They especially want to speak to the driver of a silver Peugeot who left the scene before emergency services arrived.
Detective Constable Alan Curtis said: “I am particularly keen to speak with the female driver of a silver four door Peugeot.
"She is believed to have manoeuvred her car across the eastbound carriageway as Derek’s KTM690 motorcycle approached.
“She left the scene after his motorbike collided with the wall and before emergency services arrived. I would urge her to contact us.
"I would also like to speak with anyone else who witnessed the collision and is yet to come forward.”
A post-mortem examination gave Mr Gomes’ cause of death as multiple injuries. Detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command are continuing to investigate the events that led to the fatal crash.
