Police are searching for a man who donned fancy dress and launched an “unprovoked” attack on three revellers after a New Year’s Eve party in south-east London.
Two men and a woman were assaulted after leaving the Tudor Barn pub in Well Hall Road, Eltham, at about 2.50am on New Year’s Day.
Police said they were approached by a man who apparently had a moustache and beard drawn on his face and wore a pink shirt.
He head-butted a member of the group, a man aged 42, who needed hospital treatment for an eye injury and has been left permanently scarred.
The woman, 28, tried to step in but was thrown to the ground and then held down by the attacker.
Another man, 34, also tried to intervene but was punched in the face, causing permanent nerve damage to his teeth.
Police said the attacker was white, aged about 45-50, about 6ft tall, of large build, and spoke with a London accent.
Officers have released an image of a man they want to speak to about the attack.
PC Martyn Peattie, from Plumstead CID, said: "This attack was completely unprovoked and I urge anyone who can identify the suspect to contact me.”
