This is the moment an autistic teenager was attacked and robbed in the street on her way to visit her grandmother.

The 18-year-old was walking through the underpass at Billet Roundabout in Waltham Forest at 2pm on Saturday when a man on a bicycle approached her and demanded her bag.

She told him to go away but he refused, and punched her several times in the head before wrenching her bag from her and cycling away.

Waltham Forest detectives have released CCTV images of a suspect as part of an appeal to help to identify him.

A member of the public who witnessed the attack is also captured on the film and police are keen to speak to him as he may have important information.

The suspect is described as a white man aged between 22 and 26 years, approximately 5ft 11in tall, of slim build and with short dark hair and a brown moustache.

He was wearing grey tracksuit trousers and tracksuit top with a white motif on the front of the top, and was riding a purple mountain bike with black handle bars.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the investigation team on 07833 058767 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
