A police chase through the streets of west London ended when a car ploughed into a bus stop outside a college, injuring a pedestrian and a cyclist.

The car, described as a BMW, was being followed by undercover police officers in an unmarked vehicle on London Road, Isleworth.

The BMW hit a bus and a bus stop shortly before 9am today before smashing into a lamppost and a car. Two people, one believed to have been a student at the college, were hurt.

The occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled onto a nearby housing estate.

Security staff from West Thames College rushed outside to help as medics treated the injured.

A number 235 bus was damaged in the collision.

“During the attempted escape he hit a lamp post and caused another accident, hitting a car with a mother and her child on board.

“After that, he caused another accident, hitting a cyclist.

“The perpetrator stopped the car 200 yards away and started to run into a residential area. An undercover police officer went after him.”

It happened just before 9am on Wednesday as college students were arriving for the day.

In a statement, Scotland Yard said: “At 8.57am, officers in an unmarked police car were following a car in London Road, Isleworth, when the car was in collision with a cyclist and a pedestrian waiting at a bus stop.
