Detectives have issued images of people in connection with football violence at a match between Millwall and Birmingham which left police officers injured.

The Championship match was held at Millwall’s home ground the Den, in south east London on 9 March.

Several officers were injured during disorder outside the ground. Experts have trawled through video footage from the scene to identify those involved.

Police are now releasing a number of images of people, who are all believed to be Birmingham supporters.

Detective Constable Phil Dickinson of the Met's Public Order Crime Team, said: “The vast majority of football supporters are there to enjoy the game, with a small number spoiling the atmosphere for others.

"The Met’s unit that deals with disorder at football matches will prosecute those looking to engage in criminality before, during or after fixtures in London.”

A 29-year-old man was arrested on 26 March in Birmingham on suspicion of affray by Met officers, with the assistance of West Midlands Police.

He was taken into custody in Birmingham before being released on bail.
