Detectives have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in east London.

Shortly after 7am on June 27, a 53-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on the 236 bus towards Homerton, Scotland Yard said.

The attack occurred just before the bus reached Hackney Town Hall, police said.

"Detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man to contact them," the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

"The incident has left the victim feeling unsafe."
