Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist suspected of drink driving crashed into a cyclist over the Easter weekend.

A 46-year-old man was cycling along Claypit Hill towards Waltham Abbey and collided with the silver Mercedes at about 3.20pm on April 4.

The cyclist was taken to the Royal London Hospital with leg injuries.

Police said a 28-year-old man from Walthamstow was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Anyone with information can call Chigwell Road Policing Unit on 101.
