A third man has been arrested in Wales over the Parsons Green terror attack.

The 25-year-old man is being held under the Terrorism Act after he was arrested in Newport at about 7.08pm on Tuesday, the Met Police said.

Thirty people were injured after a homemade bomb in a Lidl bag exploded on a packed District Line Tube train on Friday morning.

Police are searching the address in Newport following the arrest.

Commander Dean Haydon, head of the Met's Counter Terrorism Command, said: "This continues to be a fast-moving investigation.

A significant amount of activity has taken place since the attack on Friday. We now have three men in custody and searches are continuing at four addresses. Detectives are carrying out extensive inquiries to determine the full facts behind the attack.”

Two men arrested on Saturday are still being held in custody.

Syrian refugee Yahyah Faroukh, 21 is one of the men being questioned by officers having been arrested as he left work at a fast food restaurant in Hounslow on Saturday.

An 18-year-old Iraqi refugee, suspected of planting the device, is being questioned after he was arrested at the port of Dover on Saturday as he tried to buy a ferry ticket.

Police are continuing to search two homes in Surrey and a commercial property in Hounslow following the arrests.

CCTV footage has emerged appearing to show the 18-year-old suspect on his way to plant his homemade device.

The video shows a figure dressed in grey carrying a distinctive white Lidl carrier bag outside Ecco La Vera pizzeria in Vicarage Road in Sunbury-on-Thames around 80 minutes before the explosion.

There were claims today that the teenage suspect was reported to the counter terrorism strategy Prevent in the months before the attack.
