Hi-tech CCTV installed in a London home appears to have captured a burglar in the act stealing a laptop.

The motion sensitive camera was automatically switched on and sent a message to the victim’s phone after a man broke into the home in Blackheath, Greenwich, through a rear patio door at around 6.30pm on January 5.

It shows a man, wearing a distinctive hoodie with the word “Duffer” emblazoned on the chest, stalking around the living room.

The short clip captures the moment the man takes a laptop before fleeing ahead the police’s arrival at the property in Mayday Gardens. The owner had called 999 after receiving the alert on their phone.
