A man has been rushed to hospital following a stabbing on an east London street.

The man was attacked in Rossendale Street in Hackney just after 8pm this evening.

Police and paramedics were called after receiving reports of a fight in progress, and arrived to find a man had suffered stab injuries.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to hospital, where he was being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

He had reportedly been stabbed in the leg.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 8.04pm on Monday by LAS to reports of a stabbing in Rossendale Street.

"A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital by LAS. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

"Officers from Hackney CID are investigating. There have been no arrests at this stage."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Hackney CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
