Man hunted over suspected hate attack on Muslim woman and daughter, 7, in south east London

A Muslim woman and her seven-year-old daughter were subjected to abuse in an alleged religious hate attack at a bus stop in south east London.  

Police said the 35-year-old woman and child were approached by a white man aged in his late 50s on Broadway, Bexleyheath.

He was reportedly acting strange and calling out random things, including remarks about Muslims.  

The incident at 3.30pm on August 31 was reported to police who are investigating as a possible hate crime.

Detectives issued an image of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the matter.

PC Natalie Kempshall, said: "The woman and her child were minding their own business when they were subjected to needless abuse in broad daylight.

"Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact us immediately."
