A man has been charged with attempted murder after a 15-year-old was stabbed five times on a tram in Croydon town centre.

The teenager suffered a punctured lung in the attack, which happened near West Croydon station in the early hours of September 29 2014.

At the time of the attack witnesses reported a knifeman lunging at three young men before getting off the tram.

He is currently being held at a London police station and will appear at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday, December 15.
