Man, 62, 'repeatedly stamped on in vicious attack' at Hounslow bus stop

Police are hunting for a suspect after a man was repeatedly stamped on in a "vicious" attack at a bus stop in west London.

The 62-year-old victim was returning home from a night out when he was violently assaulted in Hounslow.

His attacker pushed him to the ground and repeatedly stamped on his head at a bus stop in Grove Road at about 10.10pm on Saturday, March 25.

Detectives have released CCTV images of the suspect and another man who was with him at the time of the violent assault.

The victim was waiting at a bus stop opposite the Treaty Centre when he was approached by the suspect.

He received fractures to his eye sockets, cheek bones and nose, and also sustained a broken jaw and required surgery.

The man requires further medical treatment but has been released from hospital.

After the assault, the assailant casually walked off onto Bell Road in the direction of Hanworth Road, police said.

The suspect is described as Asian, aged between 18 and 25 years old, with short black hair that was shaved sides.

He was wearing a black hooded top and black tracksuit trousers, and was in the company of a second man who did not take part in the assault.

The second man is described as white and aged in his early 20s. Police want to speak to him as a witness.

Detective Constable Craig Boosey, from Hounslow Borough, said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack, in which a man, aged in his 60s, was savagely beaten and left lying on the street with extensive facial injuries.

"I would ask the public to contact me if they recognise the person who may have been responsible, or have any other information about this assault.

"Your information may be vital in identifying those responsible. "
