A man is fighting for his life after a fight outside Bethnal Green Tube station in the early hours of the morning.

The two men were said to have been involved in an "altercation" and one, thought to be 35, suffering serious head injuries before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

No arrests have been made and police said an investigation had been launched into the circumstances of the incident.

As dawn broke on Friday morning police remained at the scene sweeping for evidence.
