A young man was stabbed in the face by two armed suspects who attempted to steal his moped in north London.
The moped rider, 22, was slashed across the cheek with a “sharp object” and threatened by two men in Tottenham on Thursday afternoon.
He was stabbed after refusing to hand over his motorcycle in Park View Road, Jewish neighbourhood watch group Shomrim said.
The victim managed to escape and sped off towards Leaside Road where he stopped and called the police.
Officers and medics rushed to help the victim after being alerted to the attempted robbery at about 5.15pm.
He was taken to hospital by Hatzola – the Jewish fast response ambulance service – where he remains in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
A Met Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a man who had been assaulted in Park View Road, Tottenham.
“We have attended the location and spoken to the victim and established he was assaulted after somebody attempted to take his moped.”
A Shomrim spokesman said: “Police attended to the location of the victim after he managed to escape. He had managed to ride away to safety.
“He suffered a large cut to his chin. He’s in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.”
No arrests have been made.
