A woman has been killed in a four-car crash on the M25.

The woman, who was in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene near to junction three in Swanley.

She was driving a Citroen C4 when it was caught in a collision with a BMW 7 series, a Vauxhall Insignia and a Smart Car.

Five others were taken to hospital but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Kent Police are calling for witnesses.

A spokesman said: “The incident is being investigated by officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit and they are appealing for anyone with information about the collision to come forward.

“They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any of the vehicles involved in moments before the collision.”
