Police have said for the first time they believe missing university student Libby Squire “may have come to some harm” as they released images of the clothing she was wearing when she disappeared two weeks ago.

The clothes, a replica of Libby's outfit donated by Topshop, have formed part of the investigation to assist with CCTV footage in identifying Miss Squire's movements, Humberside police officers said.

She was last seen wearing a black denim skirt, a faux leather jacket and distinctive black trainers.

Hundreds of hours of CCTV footage has been reviewed to piece together Miss Squire’s last movements.

For two weeks, 50 detectives and hundreds of uniformed officers have been working around the clock to find the Unviersity of Hull student.

The senior investigating officer on the case, Detective Superintendent Martin Smalley, said: “While we do continue to be hopeful and we will always keep an open mind, Libby has been missing for 14-days now and we sadly have to consider she may have come to some harm."

He said “wide-ranging” searches had taken place, with help from teams including underwater search officers, dog handling units, support officers from neighbouring forces, assistance from Humberside Fire and Rescue, the Coastguard and from National Police Air Service.

“We are continuing to support Libby’s family through this incredibly difficult and distressing time. They are understandably distraught not knowing where their daughter and loved one is, and we will endeavour to give them the answers they desperately need," he said.

“We are determined and we will do all we can to find Libby – she is our priority.

“More work is now taking place behind the scenes rather than in public view, however this does not mean the investigation is slowing or coming to an end, it is exactly the opposite and is very much active and ongoing.

“This is a live investigation and proceedings are active. One man has been arrested, questioned and remains under investigation while we further our enquiries.”

CCTV footage released this week shows Miss Squire dressed in black and walking along the road outside The Welly club, in Beverley Road, Hull.

Miss Squire is believed to have taken a taxi from the nightclub after she was refused entry.

Police said she was dropped off near her home at around 11.29pm and was then seen near a bench on Beverley Road around 10 minutes later.

More CCTV footage, released last week after it was obtained by ITV News, showed a man getting in and out of a car, minutes after the last sighting of the philosophy student.

In the video, the unidentified man is seen opening the front passenger door before getting back into the car and driving away at around 12.09am on February 1.

The investigation has seen specialist search teams, underwater officers, dog teams, neighbouring forces, search and rescue teams, fire officers, the coastguard, the police helicopter, local businesses and members of the public taking part in the search.

On Wednesday, Pavel Relowicz, of Raglan Street, Hull, was arrested on suspicion of abduction in connection with Miss Squire's disappearance.

On Sunday night, he was charged with three unrelated offences and appeared at Hull Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.

Relowicz pleaded not guilty to charges of voyeurism, outraging public decency and burglary.
