Terrified witnesses rushed to help a young man after he was set upon by four thugs and stabbed outside a Tesco Express supermarket.

One onlooker described how he ran outside with t-shirts to stop the bleeding after the victim was dragged out of a car and knifed in broad daylight in north Kensington.

Other people said there was “blood everywhere” after the man was attacked “in the middle of the street” on Tuesday evening.

Police were called shortly before 7pm to North Pole Road, at the junction with Latimer Road.

A staff member at nearby Mick’s Fish Bar said: “They beat him up and stabbed him. Afterwards I ran outside with a few t-shirts to try and stop the bleeding.”

It is the second stabbing in the borough in just over 24 hours after two people were injured in a clash on High Street Kensington on Monday.

Paramedics also attended the scene and discovered the victim, believed to be aged in his 20s, suffering from stab wounds.

He was rushed to hospital. Scotland Yard said it is unclear how serious his injuries are.

Police said that no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 7231 of 12 June.
