Detectives have returned to the scene of the devastating murder of teenager Jordan Wright as a £10k reward was offered up in return for information about his killers.
Jordan was found slumped on the road in Blackheath with multiple knife wounds on April 19 – just weeks after his nineteenth birthday.
Off-duty doctors who lived nearby desperately tried to revive him after hearing screams for help but he was pronounced dead in hospital a few hours later.
Police believe Jordan, from Catford, had been planning to meet with a group of friends when he was ambushed in Hervey Road Sports Fields.
Officers are returning to the scene of the murder – one week on – in an attempt to gather crucial information from witnesses and residents.
DCI Tudway said: "This murder has left Jordan's family devastated and has been a big shock to the local community.
"I believe Jordan knew the man who stabbed him, in fact it appears Jordan may have arranged to meet this man and others in the park off Begbie Road earlier that afternoon.
“The other men who attended this meeting will know exactly what happened to Jordan and who is responsible for his murder.
"Jordan was preparing to go on a family holiday - now his parents are planning his funeral. If you were part of that group, tell us what you saw. If you know who was part of that group when Jordan was stabbed, please contact police or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously."
Crimestoppers have announced a £10,000 reward for anyone who is able to provide information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of his killer.
On April 19 police were called to reports of a stabbing in Hervey Road at about 9.45pm.
Jordan was found with stab injuries and later died, with the cause of death being an incised wound to chest.
Jordan had just graduated and was due to start an apprenticeship in the construction industry on 24 April.
Following his death, Jordan’s brother wrote an emotional post saying: “RIP Baby bro, they can kill you but they can’t kill your spirit or all of our love for you.
“You’re in a better place now... rest easy and I’ll see you in the next life.”
Officers said they “continue to keep an open mind about the possible motive for Jordan's murder” and arrested a 19-year-old man in Kent on Wednesday morning.
