Ilford stabbing: Man stabbed to death outside east London train station in fourth knife attack in capital within eight hours

A young man has been knifed to death outside an east London railway station in the fourth stabbing within just eight hours in the capital.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, shortly before 9pm on Tuesday night.

Horrified witnesses looked on as paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man.

The victim, 20, died at the scene.

Dramatic footage showed police cars lining the street as a cordon was put in place.

Scotland Yard has launched a murder investigation. No arrests have been made.

The victim's next of kin have been informed.

Ilford station's front entrance was closed off to commuters as a crime scene remained in place on Wednesday morning.

An entrance at the back of the station has been opened.

It comes after a man in his thirties suffered a stab wound to his thigh in Enfield shortly before 2pm.

He was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged.

A schoolboy was attacked and stabbed in a separate incident outside South Ruislip station, in west London, just before 4.30pm.

Witnesses described seeing a boy in school uniform "lying face down on the pavement" outside the station after being attacked.

The boy was rushed to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, London Ambulance Service said.

Two hours later, a teenager was stabbed in Romford, east London, in another horrific attack.

The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
