Police have slammed the “unacceptable” behaviour of thugs who launched lit fireworks at officers and passersby in a busy west London street.

The gang of teenagers were filmed and pictured launching rockets across Southall Broadway, Ealing, with one explosive hitting a police officer’s bike.

The all-male group can be heard shouting “f*** the pigs” and laughing as they launch huge bangers underneath moving cars.

They dance around lit waterfall-style candles in the middle of the road while playing drums before one yells “let’s get out”.

Southall Broadway police called on witnesses to provide anonymous information about the group on Twitter and shared a link to a clip posted by the gang.

They wrote: “This behaviour that some thought was acceptable during Diwali.

Another added: “Stupid anyone could have got hurt! They wouldn't like it if someone did it to their family.”

A spokeswoman for the Met Police confirmed officers were called to South Street at 8.20pm on Thursday, October 21 to reports of youths launching fireworks.

She said one male was arrested for failing to provide details and added that the incident was being dealt with by officers on a local level.
