As police line-ups go, this one looks like it might be a job for Special Branch.

The Met has posted images of 33 plants stolen during a spate of thefts in Wandsworth’s affluent ‘nappy valley’ in April in the hope of re-uniting them with their owners.

The plants and plant pots were discovered in a lorry by officers during a police operation where a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft.

The thefts were discussed by residents on a community website, with some victims fearing the thieves drove up and down streets in the area taking window boxes and plants.

Images of the plants were posted on photo sharing website Flickr, which Met bosses have already used to appeal for information about rioters involved in last summer’s disorder in Haringey.

If you think the plants are yours or you know who they belong to, contact Wandsworth borough police on 0208 247 8414 or leave a message on 0208 247 8524.
