An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two stabbings during widespread disorder in Hyde Park.

Violence broke out in the park last week on the hottest day of the year when a water fight spiraled out of control.

Three people, including a police officer, were knifed during the disorder, which later spread to Marble Arch.

Police arrested a man this morning in connection with two of the stabbings, which left a pair of men needing hospital treatment.

He is currently in custody at a west London police station.

There have now been 11 arrests over the July 19 violence.

Police are continuing to release CCTV stills of people they want to trace over the evening’s events.
