Human remains have been discovered by a busy motorway in Buckinghamshire.

The grim discovery was made by a Thames Valley Police officer during a routine patrol near the A404 slip road at High Wycombe yesterday at 1.40pm.

The death is being treated as unexplained, Thames Valley Police said.

A spokesman said they could now confirm the remains are human but could but would not give any more detail about the find.

Officers and a forensic team are at the scene which has been sealed off.

This slip road which feeds on to the M40 northbound is likely to stay closed until Monday.
