A heavily-pregnant woman was dragged along a pavement by a moped-riding thief who snatched bags containing designer make-up worth thousands of pounds.

The 40-year-old victim was walking in Downham Road, Hackney, when the biker mounted the pavement and grabbed her black Zuka suitcase and blue rucksack.

She was dragged along the pavement for two metres still clinging to her bags before losing her grip and falling to the floor.

The suspect is described as male, of medium build and around 5ft 10in tall. He wore a black motorcycle helmet, black trousers and a black jacket with yellow markings.

The victim was taken to hospital for a check-up and released without requiring treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery on January 4 at 6.10pm should contact Hackney CID on 101.
