A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in a fight in Harrow.

Police were called to reports of a fight on Hindes Road where they found a 20-year-old man suffering from stab wounds at 3.20pm.

Paramedics took the man to a major trauma centre where he is currently in a critical condition.

Met Police have arrested two men on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

Three more people – one man and two women – have also been arrested for conspiracy to commit GBH.

It came after a bloody weekend in the capital with two men murdered and at least 12 stabbings in Croydon.

A "charming" aspiring lawyer was stabbed to death in Kilburn on Saturday after he went to buy an orange smoothie and a bagel for his mother.

Police believe Sven Badzak was stabbed along with a 16-year-old friend as they fled a group of men after they confronted him outside a shop where he picking up a salmon and cream cheese bagel - a favourite for his mother - in Willesden Lane at about 5.40pm on February 6.

Witnesses to the Harrow stabbing are urged to call 101 ref CAD3924/07FEB.
