Police investigating the murder of a man shot dead in a north-west London street have arrested two men.

The victim in his late 20s, named as Oliver Tetlow, 27, was gunned down at close-range from a blacked-out hatchback in Harlesden just before 10pm on Wednesday in an alleged case of mistaken identity.

Passers-by had tried to revive him before paramedics arrived at the scene in Church Road and pronounced him dead from multiple gunshots to his chest and stomach.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at around 11.50pm on Friday in the Shepherd's Bush area on suspicion of murder

Several hours earlier at 4pm, an 18-year-old man was arrested in Harlesden on suspicion of robbery.

A post-mortem examination held at Northwick Park hospital mortuary gave Mr Tetlow's cause of death as gunshot wounds.

Mr Tetlow’s aunt, Kamilla Richards, 21, told the Standard: “He had nothing to do with it, he was an innocent bystander. The situation has nothing to do with him.

"It’s a feud in the area. Someone was looking for revenge and he was the only one around.

“Everyone else in the area knew about it and was staying away, but he’s not on social media. If he knew he wouldn’t have been out there. Obviously they saw he was the only black male on the road."

Ms Richards added: “He was always such a sweet person. An innocent soul has been taken from us in such a horrific way. He was well-educated and he loved his family very much."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Although officers await formal identification, they are satisfied that the deceased is Oliver Tetlow, 27, from the Harlesden area.

"Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson of the Homicide and Major Crime Command has appealed to anyone who may have images or footage of the shooting to contact the incident room or Crimestoppers."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact police on 020 8358 0200 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
