Police are hunting a gunman after a 20-year-old man was shot near Hampstead.

Officers were called to Fellows Road, close to Swiss Cottage, to reports of shots being fired last Wednesday.

After attending at about 11.20pm officers found evidence of gunshots but no one was injured at the scene.

Police later found that a 20-year-old man had suffered a gunshot injury and was being treated in a central London hospital.

His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Anyone with information should call Trident on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
