A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a motorbike in a hit-and-run in north London last night.
Police said they were called to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian in Tottenham High Road at around 10.56pm on Sunday.
Shomrim, the Jewish neighbourhood watch group, said the girl had been crossing the road with her mother when the child is believed to have been hit by a moped.
It is believed police were called to reports of a bus involved in the collision in error, though officers are thought to be keen to trace the bus to access CCTV footage from its cameras.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Officers attended and found a 10-year-old girl suffering from a leg injury following a collision with a motorcyclist.
"She was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service and is receiving treatment for a leg injury.
"The motorcyclist did not stop at the scene.
"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."
