Four men have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to free two people from a prison van in north London.
Armed police swooped on Bracknell Close – just yards from Wood Green Crown Court – at 9am on Friday, December 11 as part of an “intelligence led operation”.
A 28-year-old man was shot dead by police marksmen and the shooting was later being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
Ozcan Eren, 31, of Douglas Road, Wood Green and Eren Hayser, 25, of Kettering Road, Enfield, were both charged in the early hours of Monday with conspiracy to aid the escape of Izzet Eren and Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi from lawful custody.
Nathan Mason, 30, of Vicarage Road, Tottenham and Gokay Sogucakli, 19, of the Roundway, Tottenham, were also charged with the same offence, along with possession of an imitation firearm and driving a motor vehicle taken without the consent of the owner.
All four will appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Izzet Eren and Amoyaw-Gyamfi were both jailed at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday after admitting charges of possessing guns and ammunition with intent to endanger life, aggravated vehicle taking and a driving offence, Sky News reported.
