A Crystal Palace fan suffered "lasting damage" after she was attacked by a group of football hooligans outside Wembley before the FA cup final.

Police are searching for a group of thugs after a couple in their 40s were attacked at Wembley Stadium railway station last month.

The couple were approached by the group at about 4.40pm on May 21, punching the man in the face and then attacking the woman.

Police said she then fell to the ground, where the group repeatedly stamped on her foot, causing her serious damage.

She was taken to a north London hospital and received treatment for a dislocated foot. The man did not require hospital treatment.

Officers believe the couple could have been singled out as Crystal Palace fans by the attackers.

DC Lauren Taylor-Rose, from Brent CID, said: “This was a nasty unprovoked attack on a couple enjoying cup final day in Wembley.

“The woman has lasting damage as a result of the foot injury from what was meant to be a fun day out.”

The main suspect in the group of men is described as a young, short white male with a stocky build and distinctive sideburns down to his jaw.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting reference 1912412/16 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
