The so-called Croydon cat killer is feared to have struck again after three pets were found dead.

Two animals' mutilated bodies were discovered in south London on Sunday and a third was reported in Northolt.

Welfare group South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty said one headless black cat was found off Thornton Road in Thornton Heath on Sunday morning while a white and ginger Tom called Barney was found in Mottingham hours later.

Barney’s owner, known as Danielle, said: “He loved chasing and being chased around the garden by the children, meeting and greeting his human Dad when he came home from work.

“He enjoyed sitting proudly on a perch above and next to the front door of his home, his lush tummy fur blowing the in breeze as he surveyed his territory.”

On Tuesday, SNARL collected the body of a cat in Guildford after it had been killed and had its tail cut off.

Up to 50 animals have been slaughtered across the capital over the past few years, leading police to launch an investigation.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents call police on 101 or in confidence via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. To report incidents to SNARL call 07961 030064 or 07957 830490
