A bank customer secretly filmed an armed robber on his iPhone during a raid in west London.
Estate agent Joseph Cliff and several other customers were ordered to lie on the ground after the robber entered the NatWest branch in Ealing.
The gunman had followed a security guard into the bank and at first demanded the money from his cashbox.
When he found it was empty he smashed his gun on a glass window and pointed it a cashier shouting at her to hand over cash.
Mr Cliff, 24, said: “The man was extremely aggressive, he kept shouting ‘give me the money’ and ‘give me the bag’.
“Everyone was ordered onto the floor. It was surreal. I originally popped out to pick up some breakfast for the office, but decided to go into the bank just after it opened to deposit some money. It was pretty scary. I don’t know why I pulled my phone out and started filming it.
“My mind just went. All I could do was focus on his hand carrying the gun. I was watching it just in case it started to point at me. “
Mr Cliff said the man was wearing a motorcycle helmet and was dressed in dark clothing.
The raid, just before 10am last Friday, only lasted only a few minutes and the gunman suddenly left when he appeared to think he had been in the bank too long.
He is thought to have got away with about £15,000 and police say they are looking at a series of similar raids on other banks.
The suspect was described as white, around 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall and of slim build. He spoke with a London accent and escaped on a stolen motorcycle.
