Two teenagers have been arrested after 17-year-old was left fighting for life after being repeatedly stabbed in a south London car park.

The boy was found in the stairwell of the multi-storey car park in Wandle Road, Croydon, suffering multiple stab wounds on Tuesday, police said.

Officers rushed to the scene, close to Whitgift Street, just before 10pm.

The victim was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Friday.

The 18-year-old is being held at a south London police station.

The 17-year-old has been released on bail until a date in mid-April.

Detectives have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward.
