This is the chilling moment a man tries to bundle a six-year-old boy into the back of a car.

Police said the attempted abduction was foiled when a member of the boy's family stopped the man.

CCTV shows a man picking the boy up in the Bronx, New York, before trying to put him into the back of a black vehicle.

Detectives are now hunting the suspect and today released footage of the incident.

The man they wish to speak to is described as white, approximately 30-years-old, wearing black dress shoes, a dark sweater, and a button down shirt underneath.
