A man has died after he was repeatedly stabbed during a small party at a north London flat.
The 29-year-old suffered multiple knife wounds to the chest during the attack in Canonbury early on Monday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Westcliffe House, Baxter Road, just after 2am.
The man was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A 22-year-old woman, who also required hospital treatment, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, who is leading the investigation for the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "At this early stage, we know that a small group of people had gathered in a flat and that in the early hours of Monday morning a man received a number of stab wounds to the upper body.
“We are keen to trace all those present at the flat during the attack.
“Work is continuing to identify others involved and piece together the events that led up to this brutal murder.”
Police say a 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is being quizzed at an east London police station.
