Two brothers who attacked a promoter at an exclusive Mayfair club after they became “enraged” at women dancing in their private area have been sentenced to community service.

Jeffrey Graham, 30, and his older brother Adam, 32, booked out a space in the private members Maddox Club for a party of friends and family, but had to complain to security about other clubbers intruding on their space.

The Mill Street club, which is just a few yards from London’s Savile Row, counts Prince Harry, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Sadie Frost, and Pharrell Williams among its past celebrity guests.

At Westminster magistrate court, the Graham brothers, from Aston-on-Trent near Derby, both pleaded guilty to assault and were sentenced to a 12-month court order with community service.

“This would have been a very frightening incident, not only for Mr Bohbot who you assaulted by both of you, but for other people present in the club that night”, said magistrate Claire Harris.

“This is a serious incident.”

Prosecutor Tom Heslop said the incident happened at around 3am on March 13, when Mr Bohbot was sat at a table with a group of women close by to the Graham family.

“The two defendants thought the girls were getting in their space, but the girls continued dancing in the area”, said the prosecutor.

“Jeffrey Graham pushed one of the girls away from the table, and the victim put his hand between Jeffrey and the girl. Jeffrey then angrily grabbed his arm.”

The court heard Mr Bohbot went to pull away from the confrontation, and he then “felt multiple hands hitting him” as he tried to protect his head.

“Adam Graham and Jeffrey Graham were hitting and punching the victim after Jeffrey had started it”, said Mr Heslop, who alleged Jeffrey had threatened the victim when he reported the incident to a club manager.

Mr Bohbot had a black eye, a sore head, and a chipped tooth after the attack, which was caught on the club’s CCTV.

The Graham brothers, who have recently launched a new luxury concierge business, both pleaded guilty to assault by beating and wrote a letter of apology to Mr Bohbot.

“It was a spur of the moment, emotional reaction, initially from Jeffrey, and Adam acted excessively to defend his brother”, said their lawyer, George Dugbo.

The court ordered Jeffrey Graham to carry out 120 hours of community service, while his brother must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

Both are under a 12-month community order, they are banned from going back to the Maddox Club, they must each pay £100 compensation to the victim, as well as £180 in court costs and fees.
