A 27-year-old has been arrested for murder after a man was hit by a lorry when a fight spilled out onto the street in Brighton.

The man was found lying in the city centre’s Western Road at 2.40am this morning and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A man from Hove, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, is currently being questioned by police.

Detective Chief Inspector Tanya Jones, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: "This has been a fast moving investigation and we have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

"However we are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen the fight which spilled into Western Road and then the victim being hit by a lorry.”
