First picture of tragic cyclist killed in hit and run in Brent

This is the first picture of a cyclist who was killed after a hit and run collision with a lorry driver in north-west London.

The incident is the fourth cyclist death involving a HGV to take place in London this year.

Police were called to Willesden Junction at around 4pm on Tuesday to reports of a lorry in collision with a cyclist on the high street.

But despite the efforts of the emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard has identified the man as Michael Stapleton, 62, from north London.

His next of kin have been informed.

The Met said the the driver had failed to stop and officers have since made contact with them. No arrests have been made.
