A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a young father stabbed on a north London street in broad daylight.

Musician Ryan Gray, 24, died yesterday from stab wounds four days after he was attacked less than a mile from his home in Islington.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was originally accused of attempted murder but has now been charged with murder.

Mr Gray’s distraught relatives gathered at the family home last night as friends left flowers and cards in Horsell Road, the scene of the stabbing at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The young musician, who performed under the name Reckz, is father to a five-year-old boy.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Horsell Road, N5 at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 4 June, after a 24-year-old man was found with stab wounds.

“The man was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital. He died at hospital on Sunday.”

A 17-year-old was due to appear at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court this morning charged with murder.
